The fire that broke out on Monday afternoon at the Notre Dame Cathedral in central Paris has been "under control, partially extinguished," media reported.
The blaze started at around 1700 GMT and the spire of the architecture has collapsed. The fire may be linked to renovation works being carried out at the medieval cathedral, one of the capital's tourist magnets, said local media.
