A regulation on the protection of children's personal information on online networks will go into effect Tuesday.
The regulation, published by the Cyberspace Administration of China in August, stipulates that no organizations or individuals are allowed to produce, release or spread information that infringes on children's personal information security.
Children's guardians should help enhance their awareness and capability to protect their personal information, says the regulation.
With the permission of guardians, network operators should inform guardians in a clear manner when collecting, using, transferring and disclosing children's personal information, it says.
