A fresh wave of cold air will sweep across many parts of China in the coming days, cooling temperatures and bringing rainfall, the country's national observatory said Friday.
Affected by the cold front, many northern and northeastern areas will see temperatures sink by 6-8 degrees Celsius from Friday to Sunday, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
Strong winds are also expected in those regions, with areas in central China's Henan and Hubei provinces likely to cool off by 10 degrees Celsius, the NMC said.
Meanwhile, rainfall will lash a vast part of China, especially southwestern provinces like Sichuan and Guizhou as the cold front pushes ahead.
The center warned against potential geologic hazards under continuing rainfall and suggested residents in affected regions avoid hazardous spots.
