The first international flight took off Sunday morning from Beijing's new Daxing International Airport, marking the beginning of its official operation of international business.
Air China's flight CA757, bound for Bangkok, Thailand, took off at 7:50 a.m. from the newly-built airport in southern Beijing.
Mr. Zhang, who's traveling to Bangkok with his family, said they picked this flight specially to experience the new airport, and it's exciting to fly from the new aviation hub for the first time.
There will be nine outbound flights and six inbound flights on Sunday.
The Daxing airport opened to flights last month.
