No new pneumonic plague cases were reported as of Saturday, while conditions of one patient under treatment worsened, the municipal health authorities said.
The Beijing Municipal Health Commission confirmed two pneumonic plague patients who were from north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Tuesday.
Both patients have been receiving treatment since. One is in stable condition. The other who was critically ill turned a little better on Thursday but deteriorated on Saturday.
Some of the people in close contact with the patients have been released from medical quarantine, while the rest show no abnormal symptoms such as fever, the commission said.
