North China's Tianjin Municipality reported one new COVID-19 case on Wednesday. The patient was previously reported as an asymptomatic case, according to local authorities.
The whole genome sequencing results of the new case showed that the virus belonges to European branch II (North American branch), and the results are consistent with the whole genome sequencing results of the case reported on Monday.
The city has reported two confirmed cases and one asymptomatic case so far since Monday, and all cases are believed to be linked to a frozen food warehouse, the authorities said.
A preliminary virus source tracing report showed the outbreak is likely to have been transmitted from goods to people, the authorities added.
