Shanghai reported two new confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Sunday, local authorities said.
Both cases are close contacts of previously confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to the municipal health commission.
One of the cases, a 46-year-old man surnamed Cao, is the colleague of a previously confirmed COVID-19 case surnamed Wu, who works at the cargo terminal at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
The other confirmed case, a 30-year-old woman surnamed Zhang, is the wife of a previously confirmed COVID-19 case surnamed Wang.
All of the places that the two cases visited during the past 14 days have been disinfected.
Authorities have tracked 52 close contacts, placing them in quarantine and conducting nucleic acid tests.
Experts have launched an epidemiological investigation.
Authorities have classified the residential community where the new cases live as a medium-risk area for COVID-19.
