A 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off Yilan County in Taiwan at 9:19 p.m. Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 80 km, was monitored at 24.74 degrees north latitude and 121.99 degrees east longitude, said the CENC.
Tremor was felt in Taipei, but no casualties have been reported.
