Around 4.78 million people were lifted out of poverty in central China's Hunan Province over the past five years, according to the province's latest government work report.
In the same period, 51 counties and 6,920 villages were delisted from the poverty list, the report said.
Last year, 199,000 impoverished residents in the province shook off poverty.
Problems facing residents related to inadequate roads, drinking water, electricity, communications, schooling and medical treatment have also been solved, the report said.
