China has launched cooperation with over 10 countries on COVID-19 vaccines research and development, the country's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, pledging cooperation in more areas.
China welcomed UN Security Council's resolution to promote international cooperation and fair, equitable vaccine distribution, said Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson from the ministry.
China has joined the COVAX Facility and decided to provide 10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to meet the urgent needs of developing countries, according to Wang.
China has also joined the Friends of the COVID-19 Vaccine Group for peacekeepers and donate vaccines to UN peacekeepers, he added.
