The Chinese mainland recorded nine new COVID-19 cases on Thursday – five from overseas and four in southwest China's Yunnan Province, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Friday.
No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported, the NHC said.
Twenty new asymptomatic cases were recorded the same day, of which four are from Yunnan, and 295 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.
This brought the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 90,226, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.
The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:
Hong Kong: 11,480 (11,108 recoveries, 205 deaths)
Macao: 48 (48 recoveries)
Taiwan: 1,036 (983 recoveries, 10 deaths)
