Several passengers were injured, at least three seriously, when a domestic flight in India encountered severe turbulence on Monday.
The flight number UK775 from Mumbai to Kolkata suffered from turbulence 15 minutes before landing, confirmed a Vistara airline's spokesperson.
In a written statement, the spokesperson said that the injured passengers were provided first aid during the flight, and immediate medical assistance upon arrival in Kolkata.
"We are saddened by this unfortunate experience our customers had, and are closely monitoring the health status of those injured. We are investigating the incident on priority, and will share a further update at the earliest," added the airline's statement.
