China on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for possible geological disasters in some parts of the country.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Meteorological Administration warned of high risks of geological disasters in parts of Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Local residents are advised to take precautions for geological disasters triggered by heavy rainfall, especially in areas with hidden dangers.
China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
