Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, will launch its fifth round of nucleic acid testing across its six main urban areas on Saturday morning.
The new round of testing follows the discovery of positive cases in its recent regular mass tests.
The city reported two locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of local cases in the city to 41 since the latest round of the epidemic broke out.
Harbin currently has 30 medium-risk areas across the city.
