As construction advances, the Cangnan-Taishun Expressway, a key infrastructure project in Zhejiang province, is set to enhance regional connectivity and drive high-quality development across 26 mountainous counties in the province.
With a total investment of 27.504 billion yuan, the expressway starts in Yanpu town of Cangnan county, and ends southeast of Luoyang town of Taishun county. The main route passes through 15 towns, stretching just under 100 km. As a key construction project in Zhejiang province, the expressway is believed to be a significant step in implementing the provincial government's initiative to continue its mountain-sea synergistic development.
The Cangnan-Taishun Expressway is a vital link in Zhejiang's "Nine Vertical, Nine Horizontal, Five Rings, Five Corridors, and Multiple Connections" highway network plan, and it plays a key role in Wenzhou's efforts to build a "One Ring, One Loop, Nine Radials, and Five Links" expressway network.
However, relocating power lines is a crucial aspect of the expressway's construction, especially since many sections in Taishun traverse mountainous areas with complex terrain and varying elevations. During site surveys, the challenging topography often requires surveyors to reach certain points on foot, because of inaccessible roads, said State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Co, the project's power operator.
The company said it had recently coordinated with engineering, design, and construction teams to conduct a survey and mark the route for power line relocation on the mountains in Taishun county, to better complete the expressway's power line construction.
Moving forward, State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Co said it will continue to support the project's construction schedule, addressing power needs to ensure steady progress, in order to contribute to the region's high-quality development and the broader goal of building a demonstration zone for common prosperity in Zhejiang.
