After a big win over Hong Kong, China 16-3 in Jakarta on Tuesday, defending champion China snatched its third consecutive Asian Games title in women's water polo.
A total of six teams compete at the Jakarta Asian Games as China kept unbeaten run in all five matchs, while Kazakhstan took the silver after a narrow victory over Japan 12-11. Japan came to third place.
"We did a good team work today and we prepared very well against our strong rivals Kazahkstan and Japan. Since we are a team mixed of veterans and young players, we are trying our best to learn more from the world top teams," Mei Xiaohan said.
"We don't have time to celebrate the victory since we need to prepare for the World Cup to be kicked off on Sept. 4 in Russia," Mei said.
China also scored 238 goals from three Asian Games.
