Special: Asian Games 2018

Team China won first place in Arena of Valor, one of the six eSports demonstration events at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Aug. 26.

The five-men team beat Chinese Taipei to claim the crown. The score was two to zero.

The two teams and Vietnam will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.

But the medals will not count into the total medal tally since eSports is only a demonstrative sport this year.

China has also participated in two other video games, League of Legends and Clash Royale.

This is the first time eSports has made it into the Asian Games. The sport will be official in 2022.

Arena of Valor is a smartphone game in which 10 players get connected online, pick unique heroes and fight with each other in two teams.

The game was created by China's Internet giant Tencent.
