A Chinese sports delegation composed of the country's basketball players and led by the director of the General Administration of Sports Gou Zhongwen, arrived in Pyongyang, capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Monday afternoon.
Players of the delegation came from Chinese women's national basketball team and Team Red of Chinese men's national basketball team, according to Chen Yueze from Tencent Sports.
Ding Yanyuhang and Zhou Qi of Team Red are currently with their teams, the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets of the NBA for the preseason games and thus did not go to the DPRK.
Yao Ming, president of China Basketball Association, was also in the delegation. Players were wearing the blue uniforms designed for the 2018 Asian Games.
Kim Il Guk, DPRK's sports minister, was at the airport to welcome the Chinese delegation.
The delegation will attend various events, including training and playing friendly games with their local counterparts.
