A public welfare figure-skating class, coached by top personalities in the sport, was held at the National Speed Skating Oval on Sunday.
Team China figure skater Tong Jian and renowned Russian figure skating coach Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin personally instructed figure skating enthusiasts.
During the event, Mishin's students and Chinese figure skater Zhu Yi delivered an impressive performance on the ice, showing their skills and unique artistic flair.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, a milestone that has led to deepening cooperation in sports between the two nations.
Organized by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, the event aims to strengthen China-Russia sports exchanges and promote the development of winter sports.
Moreover, the Pangqing Tongjian International Skating Club in Beijing, founded by Tong and his partner both on and off the ice, Pang Qing, is set to collaborate with Mishin's figure skating club to share coaching resources.
This partnership seeks to provide more systematic and professional training for Chinese and Russian youth, fostering the development of figure skating talent.
Looking ahead, the two sides plan to organize training camps for Chinese figure skating youth in Russia and invite Mishin's team to China for training sessions and club competitions.
Additionally, leveraging ice sports as a platform, they intend to develop educational and employment opportunities, organize international figure skating performances, and establish pathways to higher education in figure skating for students from both countries.
