(Ecns.cn)!Coming in the golden season when most parts of the country are getting much cooler, the traditional and official Mid-Autumn Day Festival is to witness 200 million tourists traveling around the country with many still wondering where to spend the three-day vacation.

Well, here is a list of places where you can expect a wonderful celebration of the festival.

Hong Kong: 'giant fish' lantern carnival

Hong Kong, in particular, is a city where those who prefer not to stay indoors can spend such a holiday in the bright autumn of outdoors.

This year, giant lanterns have been lit since last week to welcome the holiday. Surrounded by a horde of chrysanthemums and illuminated by colorful lanterns, the metropolis will take on the atmosphere of a rural community celebrating the harvest moon with festive foods.

The carnival is scheduled on three sites at the same time: Tin Shui Wai Park and the Ginza Plaza in the New Territories West, Victoria Park in the urban area, as well as Sha Tin Park and the Sha Tin Town Hall Square in the New Territories East.

In addition, a lantern exhibition will be held on the open square in front of the Tsim Sha Tsui Cultural Centre, in the theme of a playground. An 8.5-meter roller coaster of lanterns will be on display.

So, dive in, bask in the glow of a contender for the world's largest sculpture made from lanterns, dance with a fire dragon, gorge yourself on nouveau moon cakes and experience the city's vibrant living culture in the 11-day Hong Kong Mid-Autumn Festival!
