With the summer holidays just around the corner, Chinese families are gearing up for a break away from work or school. Out of all the destinations to choose from, a couple of attractions in Yunnan Province are experiencing a serge in tourists thanks to it broad appeal that has something for all the family.
This geological museum in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province, features exhibits of Karst formations. It showcases the development and evolution of karst landforms, just like an encyclopedia of geology. There are even some rare items such as fossils of dinosaur eggs!
"This kind of egg is long is from a carnivorous dinosaur and these over there are more or less like the chicken eggs are from phytophagous dinosaur. The smaller ones beside are from omnivorous dinosaur's," said a woman.
And if you want to get some outdoor fun then this village in Lijiang is a good place to experience the great outdoors. Jinlong Village is about half-an-hour ride from Lijiang city and far away from the crowds. Deep into the mountainous region of Yunnan, it's like entering another world. With hundreds of traditional buildings, all painted in different colors, it even features some 3D graffiti.
"It's just so beautiful out here. I love the paintings, so vivid that it almost like photographs. I really love being here," said a woman.
"I can't help but take a lot of pictures. The view is gorgeous and the people here are really great. It's a great trip," said a man.
