Seven Chinese cities that have hosted G20 meetings(2)

Guangzhou

The first G20 Employment Working Group Meeting was held from Feb 2 to Feb 4 in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

Delegates shared views on pro-employment macro-economic policies, unemployment, labor market skills forecast, workplace safety and adaptability, effectiveness of vocational training.

Shanghai

The first Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting was held on Feb 26 to Feb 27, Shanghai.

Ministers and governors stressed the importance of using all policy tools – monetary, fiscal and structural – individually and collectively to respond to risks, boost confidence and strengthen economic growth.

Later, the Second Employment Working Group Meeting was also held in this city from April 26 to April 29.

Delegates discussed income distribution, social protection, working conditions, G20 Entrepreneurship Action Plan, Multi-Year Agenda of the G20 Employment Working Group, and G20 Labour and Employment Ministerial Meeting Declaration.

Xi'an

The Agriculture Ministers Meeting was held on June 3 in the capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

The meeting, the third Agriculture Ministers Meeting since the G20 was established, was held against the backdrop of the still challenging situation in global food security, commitment of all countries to eradication of hunger and poverty.

Chengdu

The third Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting was held from July 23 to July 24 in the capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Ministers and governors agreed that the global economic recovery continues but remains weaker than desirable, and downside risks persist and pointed out that G20 members are taking actions to foster confidence and support growth.
