Beijing has kicked off a month-long tourism and shopping campaign in October.
The campaign will focus on traditional Chinese culture and aims to create a happy shopping experience for tourists in the capital. The Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development is hosting the campaign.
Three new shops opened at the Olympic Park late September and they offer various souvenirs with Beijing characteristics, such as long-sleeved shirts with the Bird's Nest pattern and old Beijing cloth shoes.
Discounts will be offered throughout the month.
Visitors can enjoy watching traditional handcraft work and learn folk arts at the park's shopping area.
Goods featuring traditional Beijing elements will also be displayed online to attract potential buyers and popularize the image of Beijing gifts, officials say.
