An exhibition dubbed A Golden Way of Life -- Tres'Ors, opened on Wednesday in Macao as over 250 pieces of gold creations and artifacts will be showed to visitors in the special administrative region (SAR) in the next four months.
The exhibition was held at MGM Art Space as part of the Le French May Silver Jubilee Celebrations. Curated by Anne Camilli from Le Musee a la Carte and Gilles Bonnevialle of Maecenae, it brought to public over 250 gold pieces of classic and contemporary art works, religious artifacts, vintage furniture pieces, precious watch and jewelry, and everyday objects from the 17th century to modern time.
"Through an array of art and cultural events, MGM has been bringing the world to Macao with world-class art experience," said Pansy Ho, Co-Chairperson and Executive Director of MGM China in her speech at the opening ceremony.
"MGM will optimize the development of cultural tourism in Macao, alongside many diversified offerings, reinforcing Macao's position as a world center of tourism and leisure," she added.
Eric Berti, Consul General of France in Hong Kong & Macao SARs, said at the ceremony that this exhibition brought over 250 works together for the first time from French museums and private collections, among them remarkable pieces from Musee Notre-Dame de Fourviere in Lyon, a 1930's Zadkine sculpture, jewels from the Boucheron collection, and vintage pieces by Yves Saint Laurent.
"This exhibition celebrates in a very unique way the French creators and the 'savoir faire a la francaise' and I am very happy to present it in Macao," he added.
