Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airline has inaugurated Sunday a direct flight between the city of Barcelona, Spain and Hong Kong, the airline has informed.
There will be four flights a week on the route until Oct. 27, with departures on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in an Airbus A350-900 with capacity for 280 passengers, including 38 in Business class, 38 in Premium Economy and 214 in Economy class, the airline said.
Cathay Pacific's General Director in Spain, Jansen Stafford, said at the inauguration that the route allows the "construction of bridges and commercial connections between the companies" of Spain and China, adding that the route showed the airline's interest in offering more flights to Hong Kong.
The Barcelona-Hong Kong route is now added to the Madrid-Hong Kong route which was opened by the airline in June 2016.
