Jordan's cabinet on Wednesday decided to facilitate the issuance of visas to nationals of China, India and Kenya to help attract foreign investment, state-owned Petra news agency reported.
The cabinet indicated in its statement that China is one of the largest promising economies in the world and easing up visa issuance to Chinese investors will help create jobs and boost the economy.
"Visas will be issued to Chinese businesspeople at airports or at Jordanian embassies," a source at the Interior Ministry told Xinhua, without giving more details.
The Chinese embassy in Amman, capital of Jordan, told Xinhua Wednesday night that with necessary documents, any Chinese citizen is qualified to obtain a visa on arrival at present.
Meanwhile, Jordan also decided to lift the entry ban on Kenyan citizens and to speed up visa issuance to Indians, adding that it was keen to strengthen ties with the African markets.
