Direct flights are set open from Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to Koh Samui, a Thai island.
The route, operated by Tibet Airlines, will launch Wednesday this week, the airline said.
It will the first direct connection between Xi'an and the popular tourist site in Thailand.
Previously, tourists from Shaanxi needed to take flights to Thailand and arrive on Koh Samui by car and boat. The direct flight will cut their travel time.
The flight will run every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
