Shanghai Disneyland will open a new area based on the popular Toy Story movies before summer 2018, the company said Thursday.
Disneyland, which opened in June 2016, has six theme park areas. Toy Story Land will be its first expansion. Work began in November last year and is said to be near completion.
The new area will feature attractions such as the caterpillar-style ride Slinky Dog Spin and the 30-meter high roller-coaster Rex's Racer, the company said.
Shanghai Disneyland has been popular since it opened in June 2016. It has logged more than 11 million visits in just a year and has broken even faster than any theme park of its size.
