A new direct air route has been launched between Haikou, capital city of south China's Hainan Province, and the city of Cheongju, Republic of Korea (ROK).
The first ZE731 flight of Eastar Jet left the Cheongju International Airport at 9:40 p.m. Beijing Time Saturday and arrived at the Haikou Meilan International Airport at 2:05 a.m. Sunday.
Round trips are scheduled every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Cheongju to Haikou, and on Thursdays and Sundays from Haikou to Cheongju.
Located in central ROK and 128 km away from Seoul, Cheongju is a tourist resort with beautiful mountains and hot springs.
China plans to build Hainan into an international tourism and consumption center by 2025 and a globally influential tourism and consumption destination by 2035.
