Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the opening of a United Nations climate change conference, officially called the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21). [Special Coverage]
"Delegates now are looking forward a balanced, binding and comprehensive agreement in Paris," Xi said, adding that "Our ultimate resolution will turn into wisdom."
The highly-anticipated two-week-long talks aims to yield a new international agreement to reduce emission of green house gases beyond 2020, when the 1997 Kyoto Protocal expires.
