People across China have been experiencing biting cold and snowy weather since early this week.
Temperatures in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province and Hulunbuir, in Inner Mongolia plummeted to minus 45 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with freezing fog visible on Wednesday. And...as the cold wave tightened its grip, markets became crowded with people stocking up on essentials such as vegetables and meat for the sweeping cold front.
The extreme cold has already affected millions across the nation and is even expected to bring rare snow and sub-zero temperatures to the south. Cities and provinces like Shanghai, Changsha and Guangdong are expecting record lows.
