With search and rescue operations following the recent Tainan earthquake over, reconstruction work and the settlement of claims will now dominate the aftermath.
Tainan authorities have said that between 6,000 and 10,000 New Taiwan Dollars will be paid to those who have been affected by the earthquake.
Families of the dead and those of the severely injured will get a 2 million New Taiwan Dollar allowance. They also said they will settle with the 109 households who lost their homes in the earthquake. They are currently being accommodated in hotels, but the city administrator said it is just a temporary arrangement.
