China's top political advisory body closed its annual session on Monday. Led by President Xi Jinping, the Chinese top leadership attended the closing ceremony. The event was presided over by Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.[Special Coverage]
The CPPCC members voted through the work report made by Yu, at the opening session on March 3rd. In the past 12 days, CPPCC members held discussions over the government work reports and the draft of China's 13th five year plan.
The top advisory body vowed to continue to support the ruling party, in its economic and social development endeavours. And Yu hailed efforts made by the members to help build a well-off society in an all-round way, and called for further contribution in the regard.
"The construction of well-off society in an all-round way must benefit all 1.3 billion Chinese people. For this we must persist in being people-oriented in our development. We should do our best to distill consensus, wisdom and strength. We must fulfill the common wishes of all the Chinese people with full confidence, high spirit and solid efforts," Yu said.
