China has issued a white paper hailing new progress made in protecting human rights as China bolsters the rule of law across the board.
The white paper published by the State Council Information Office says judicial protection of human rights is an important part of human rights progress in the country.
It noted that the allocation of judicial powers and responsibilities has been improved, as has the independence and impartiality of the judiciary. Judicial transparency also has been promoted to ensure the public's right to know.
