China's Communist Party of China convened the sixth plenary session of its 18th Central Committee on Monday. The four-day plenum will deliberate on the drafting of two documents concerning party discipline. The Party aims to enhance its own capabilities to improve and renovate itself, as well as to tackle corruption.
A communique will be issued when the plenum concludes, and the decisions made at the plenum are expected to be announced to the public about a week after the meeting. The CPC holds a plenary session at least once a year to develop policies and make key decisions. Every central committee of the Party usually holds 7 plenary sessions during its 5-year term.
And, this is the sixth plenum since Xi Jinping was elected as the Party's top leader 4 years ago.
