Four people have been confirmed dead and three others were injured after a coal mine collapsed in Urumqi, the capital city of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Tuesday morning, Xinhua reports, citing local authorities.
Four of the trapped have died and the three injured have been hospitalized. The three are currently in stable condition, according to reports.
The accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. local time when part of the Badaowan Coal Mine in the Shuimogou District collapsed, trapping seven people in the security room.
The Badaowan Coal Mine has suspended its operations and rescue work has wrapped up,and now an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
