A relatively unknown Chinese mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter made headlines last week after a video went viral of him knocking out a Taichi Master in under 30 seconds. Xu Xiaodong is now looking for challenges on Weibo after being thrust into the spotlight and some interesting names have been mentioned as possible contenders.
The 38-year-old has made it clear he would prefer to fight opponents who are trained in Chinese Wushu, a form of Kungfu.
This has sparked a debate with social media users with some believing the difference between MMA and the more traditional martial art might be too much for a feasible bout.
But one man who has been mentioned for a possible cross-over encounter is boxer Zou Shiming. The two-time Olympic Champion's name was mentioned in another post from Xu, who didn't rule out a a potential fight.
In a post which was later deleted, he said, "I will unveil the list of opponents in the next 15 days... Zou Shiming is a fighter who I admire but I don't rule out the possibility of fighting him. Don't stick to questions about my weight. Zou is a world champion and i'm not hyping myself up."
