Smarter logistics systems and more powerful carriers mean Chinese e-commerce giants are entering a new level. The new system frees distribution workers from heavy labor work and makes it possible for customers to receive their packages within 10 minutes of the promised time.
The machines in "unmanned warehouses" can store and handle order information, so the parcels are sent to the right destinations without human action.
Li Pengtao from Delivery System R&D, JD Group said the system can handle 300,000 packages at maximum every day. "It needs just one-third of the number of people it once needed," Li said.
The updated technology in both Chinese e-commerce giants and couriers brings more benefits for the customers -- and boosts online shopping development in China.
