As President Xi Jinping starts his visit to Hong Kong and joins the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of its return to China, CGTN's Han Peng hit the streets of the city to speak to local residents who share their ideas about Xi's visit.
Many said it was a move of significant importance.
One resident, Alice Wong, spoke of the many slogans she saw welcoming President Xi, noting that "it's quite important as we have returned to China for many years, but we haven't met him in person" yet.
Her opinion was echoed by another local resident, Tony Lung, who said it's a "good move" that the country's top leaders are visiting Hong Kong and expressed hope that they would "get to know what Hong Kong people think".
