Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Monday for a two-day state visit.
President Xi extended his best wishes to the Russian government and people, saying that China and Russia are good neighbors and friends.
China and Russia firmly support each other on several issues and are linking China's Belt and Road Initiative with Russia's Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), said Xi.
Xi said China and Russia are responsible major countries that have contributed positive energy to maintaining regional and world peace and stability.
"This has been the sixth time for me to visit Russia after I took office. I look forward to exchanging views with President Putin on promoting cooperation between the two sides and on major international and regional issues of common interest," said Xi.
Xi will meet President Vladimir Putin for the third time this year, with both sides expected to sign more than 10 cooperation documents.
Following his visit to Russia, Xi will begin a state visit to Germany where he will also attend the 12th G20 Summit in Hamburg on July 7 and 8.
