China's consumer market saw stable growth in the first half of 2017 as the retail sales of consumer goods reached 17.2 trillion yuan (2.55 trillion U.S. dollars), going up 10.4 percent year on year, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce Gao Feng said on Thursday.
The retail sales of consumer goods in June went up 11%, the highest growth rate of a single month over the last 18 months, according to the spokesman.
Online retail sales remain strong with growth momentum as the sales reached 3.1 trillion yuan, a year on year growth of 33.4 percent, Gao said.
