(ECNS) -- Kim Yong-chol, vice chairman of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), arrived in New York on Wednesday.
It is the highest-level official visit of the DPRK to the U.S. in 18 years.
The talks between Kim and Pompeo are seen as a prelude to a potential summit between DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump.
