(ECNS) -- World Cup fever has hit Hong Kong with bars and restaurants flocked with cheering fans.
In Lan Kwai Fong, colorful side events were held to create a mood for the big party.
The paid broadcast service might also be a reason that drives fans to big screens.
"I like watching in groups for the atmosphere. It's a little bit boring watching alone at home," said a Hong Kong resident surnamed Shen.
"I like Nymar and the Brazil team," said a fan surnamed Tao from Chinese mainland
Some other fans said they had asked leave from work during the World Cup games, because "the atmosphere here in Lan Kwai Fong is awesome."
