(ECNS) -- No. 28 Primary School in District 5 of Argentina's capital is the sole full-time public bilingual school teaching Chinese and Spanish languages in the South American country.
Bilingual education here began in 2012. Half of the students are Chinese and half Argentinean at present.
Every class has one Spanish-language teacher and one Mandarin equivalent. There are now 12 Chinese language teachers.
Immersion teaching is adopted here, so children can "directly absorb and apply" what they have learned in Chinese.
Due to limited seats, it is becoming more and more competitive for students who want to learn Chinese to enter this school.
