(ECNS) -- Four bridges on highways to Beijing Daxing International Airport swiveled into position on December 2.
This means that all major highway projects to Beijing's new airport have been completed and that ground rail transit has been linked up.
"There are four swivel bridges. The total weight reaches 10,000 tons. The biggest one weighs 3,000 tons," said Liu Gang, head of the construction project.
The highways will open to traffic in the first half of next year.
It only takes about 20 minutes to get to the new airport from the South Fifth Ring Road.
