Thirty-three reindeer imported from the Netherlands arrived in Beijing on Thursday.
It’s the third group of reindeer imported by the forestry bureau of Genhe, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, since 2017 for breeding.
The Aoluguya, a tribe of the Ewenki ethnic group in Genhe, is the only tribe that still breeds reindeer in China.
The first batch of imported reindeer adapted to the local environment and gave birth in 2018.
