(ECNS) -- A fantastic lion dancing has been staged in Teng County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region recently.
Lion dancing is a traditional folk performance in Asia. China, Malaysia and Singapore share this custom.
The lion dancing in China dates back to the Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). In Teng County, it has more than 1,500 years of history, featuring high stakes.
"The lowest stake is 1.2 meters high, and the highest 2.9 meters. For short-term trainees, one week to one month is enough," said Song Zijie,a Lion dancing trainer.
Lion dancing in Teng County was added to China's national intangible cultural heritage list in 2011.
In recent years, it has been performed in Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam and other ASEAN countries.
Lion dancing has advanced from folk performance to a bridge of international cultural exchange, which has helped inheritance of the local lion dancing.
