(ECNS)--Workers began to lay tracks on Ganjiang River bridge in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province on Wednesday.
The cable-stayed bridge, part of the Nanchang-Ganzhou high-speed railway, is 2.156 kilometers long, with the main span reaching 300 meters and a tower 120.6 meters high.
The bridge will carry bullet trains running up to 350 kilometers per hour.
It is the country’s first long-span cable-stayed bridge for high-speed rail.
