(ECNS)--Alibaba co-founder and chairman Jack Ma resigned on Sept. 10 after he made the announcement a year ago.
Turning 55 on that day, Ma said he won't stop working and exploring. "Education, charity and environmental protection...I've been working in these areas, but I'd like to devote more time." Ma said.
He said he's still too young to retire. "I just want to try other playgrounds. Just as mountains never get old, and rivers never run dry, we will meet somewhere else." he bowed to his colleagues after saying so.
The day also marks the 20th anniversary of Alibaba. Daniel Zhang, 47, will take the helm of the half-a-trillion-dollar business.
