(ECNS)--The revised rules on outside food took effect on Sept. 11 at Shanghai Disneyland. Visitors will be allowed to bring in their own food and drinks.
"We do allow food and beverages into the park for self consumption, as long as it doesn't require any kind of heating, processing, reheating, or temperature control.
We also want to make sure that no food comes in that has any type of pungent odor," said Andrew Bolstein, Senior VP of Operation. The park also improved its security screening process.
"The difference now in the screening is that our guests will place their bags themselves on the table, and we'll ask the guests to open up all the compartments, move the items around as needed from a security standpoint, but our security guards will no longer place their hands inside the bags for that intrusive feeling," Bolstein added.
The policy change is welcomed by some visitors. "The new policy shows considerations of the park. And the staff members' attitude is very nice," said a visitor.
